Bat handling and identification
A one-day course aimed at those who work with bats in a professional capacity and want to improve their bat handling and bat species identification skills. Items covered include -
- Before you handle (Why handle? risk assessment, legislation)
- Bats and Rabies
- Bat anatomy & physiology
- Safe capture, release and handling techniques
- Bat species identification
- Practical bat handling including holding securely, sexing, ageing, weigh and measure, identification features

Bats for Beginners
An afternoon and evening for anyone who is new to bats! The course covers bats worldwide, bat ecology, local bat species, bat identification, bats and the law and bat sound. After the course there is an evening walk with bat detectors.

Bats and Trees
A one-day course for those working with trees. The course covers bat ecology, local species, how bats use trees and bats and the law. It includes practical exercises to assess trees for bat potential.
